Luke Elwes (b.1961) lives and works in London. Raised partly in Tehran, the light and vast desert landscapes of his early years profoundly shaped his imagination. Since the late 1980s he has travelled widely across Asia, North Africa, Australia and Ireland, creating paintings that explore memory, landscape and the idea of journey and human memory.
